Culture Ministry’s body to launch literary events
The Saudi Culture Ministry’s Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority has made preparations to launch the second season of a series of virtual literary events in 2021. The events will be broadcast on the ministry’s official channel on YouTube.
The aim of the events is to enrich the local literary scene with literary discussions of critics and prominent figures in the field.
Experts will discuss the current trends in the Arab literature. The first meeting of the series will be held on Wednesday. It will be titled “Role of the Literary Agents.” Mohammad Al-Fraih, director of the publishing and translation department at Obeikan Education will discuss the latest trends in the field.
The second meeting on children’s and young adult literature will be held on March 17. Youssef Tarouti,
Rijat Al-Hazmi and Sadeem AlNahdi will attend the session, which will be moderated by Hala Al-Qadi.
The authority, which was established in 2020, aims to streamline the publishing industry, develop a create environment and explore ways to boost investment in the sector.
It has been tasked with taking steps to encourage talented individuals to contribute to the development of the sector.
