Captain America
The latest episode of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” has brought a big MCU moment to the screen. Captain America, John Walker, has had an interesting character arc so far in the series.
He has been struggling to find his sense of belonging in a team made up of gods and super-strength soldiers, and is embarrassed by his failures as he is meant to be a leader and not a follower. But he gets his hands on the Super-Soldier serum — and crosses a line.
People were unhappy with the character’s trajectory.
@amoralpatriot tweeted a picture of Steve Rogers (who was played by Chris Evans) crying with the caption: “When you spend over 70 years building up the Captain America legacy and John Walker ruins it in 70 seconds.”
@ShivanChatak said: “John Walker brutally killed the man who was a big fan of Captain America. Steve Rogers would’ve never killed a man who was begging for his life. #FalconAndWinterSoldier #FalconAndTheWinterSoldier.” @clintbvton said: “People who say sam Wilson should take the super soldier serum to be captain America really do be missing the point of his character and also what it really means to be Captain America huh.” @aniqarahman tweeted: “The whole point of John Walker is that his actions are the opposite of the Captain America ideology and it will come to the point where it’s indefensible. Flaws in a character make them so much more compelling. It was always meant to reinforce why Sam should have the shield.”
