Saudi Arabia well on its way to achieving Vision 2030 goals

- ABDULLAH H. ALGHUWAYNIM Abdullah H. Alghuwaynim is a senior project manager at one of Vision 2030 Realization Offices.

From the day Saudi Vision 2030 was announced, up until the ideas underpinning it started taking shape on the ground, naysayers doubted its achievability and true potential. Under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom proved to the world that it was following a clear, pronounced vision, and was on the road to becoming a sophisticated country through its socioeconomic transformation, which would have a positive impact on the entire region.

“My primary goal is to (make Saudi Arabia) an exemplary and leading nation in all aspects, and I will work with you in achieving this,” King Salman said.

The Kingdom has successfully handled the coronavirus disease pandemic. The global health crisis left almost the entire world crippled, but during such a sensitive period, the Kingdom handled the situation tactfully and continued its march on the road to success.

Saudi Arabia’s leadership and people recently celebrated five years since the launch of Vision 2030, with several achievements already secured to boast about.

We cannot say that it was a smooth journey. We have had our fair share of ups and downs, but the Kingdom’s wise leadership managed every situation tactfully.

During the last five years, several strategies, programs, initiatives, ventures, and projects were launched targeting different sectors. People behind the scenes worked around the clock to achieve the goals of Vision 2030. These unsung heroes are fueled by ambition, and the belief that Saudi Arabia and its people deserve the very best.

The recent announcement of the National Strategy of Transportation and Logistics is yet another great plan added to the list of Vision 2030 goals, that will surely reshape the transportation and logistics industry in the Kingdom, and help it become a global and regional hub.

As stated by the crown prince: “We possess all the factors that will allow us to achieve our goals together, and (there is) no valid excuse for any of us to stay the same, or go backward.”

pronounced vision.
