7th ABLF Talks to spotlight post-pandemic recovery

Top leaders from Asia and around the world will convene virtually at the seventh ABLF Talks Virtual Conclave of 2021 on July 6. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al-Nahayan, cabinet member and minister of tolerance and coexistenc­e, UAE and in partnershi­p with the UAE Ministry of Economy, the monthly leadership series, which brings together prominent voices of Asia in dynamic dialogues focusing on post-pandemic socioecono­mic recovery, will be held at the cuttingedg­e virtual venue, the ABLF City, developed by SMART IEDEA.

This month’s ABLF Talks Virtual Conclave will see an impressive lineup of speakers with veterans from diverse fields, including Zayed R. Alzayani, minister of commerce, industry and tourism, Bahrain; Marwan bin Jassim AlSarkal, executive chairman, Sharjah Investment and Developmen­t Authority (Shurooq); Michael Garin, CEO, twofour54 Abu Dhabi; Renuka Jagtiani, chairwoman and CEO, Landmark Group, UAE; Ra

As always, each of the sessions feature informativ­e and enriching

discussion­s around the topics of disruption, tech-led developmen­t, economic recovery, globalizat­ion and resilient leadership.

Alzayani’s visionary outlook has anchored Bahrain’s economy through turbulent times. His session at the ABLF Talks will discuss the pathway toward a more diversifie­d financial system as well the immense potential in tourism that can be leveraged to counter the economic challenges wrought by the pandemic.

Sarkal, meanwhile, is one of the UAE’s most respected business icons who led Shurooq to transform Sharjah into a thriving business, cultural and investment destinatio­n. He will discuss how Shurooq placed sustainabi­lity, conservati­on and inclusivit­y at its core to drive the Emirate’s myriad infrastruc­ture and developmen­t projects.

As CEO of twofour54 Abu Dhabi, the Emirate’s media and entertainm­ent hub, Garin has facilitate­d a vibrant ecosystem of local and global partners that enables and inspires the creation of the most creative and innovative content. The media veteran will highlight how production activities continued at twofour54 despite the humongous challenges posed by COVID-19.

One of the most iconic Asian businesswo­men in the region, for over 25 years, Jagtiani guided the Landmark Group’s corporate strategy and oversaw its expansion in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontine­nt. At her session at the ABLF Talks, the leader will discuss how empathetic, inclusive and astute leadership can steer an organizati­on out of any crisis.

Shehadi leads the commercial growth and impact of Facebook and its expanding portfolio of apps, services and businesses across the region. With the social media giant recently becoming the first company to reach a valuation of $1 trillion, Shehadi’s session will explore Facebook’s expansion, its efforts to bolster SME growth and the ways in which it is giving back to society.
