Tickets for the three-day electronic-music festival Soundstorm, presented by Saudi-based entertainment company MDLBEAST, will go on sale on Friday.

Soundstorm, which will take place on Dec. 16-19, is the hotly anticipated follow up to 2019’s record-breaking MDL Beast Festival in Riyadh, which saw an audience of 400,000 attend over three days, with sets from 80 performers, including regional and local artists alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music such as David Guetta, Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki, and Afrojack, who all performed on what was officially the world’s largest stage.

MDLBEAST COO and head of talent booking and events, Talal Albahiti, told Arab News that the company is “going all out” for this year’s show after last year’s event was canceled due to the pandemic.

“In 2021, Soundstorm is going to be even bigger. What we’re doing is something new for Saudi Arabia. We are thrilled to show the world what we can do,” he said.

Soundstorm is not the only success story from this homegrown brand, Albahiti stressed. “When we first launched, Soundstorm was the best possible foundation. But we are not just an events company. We are an entertainment and new-media platform with music and culture at its heart,” he said.

MDLBEAST is now home to a record label, an online radio station, and MDLBEAST Freqways — “an online music experience with DJs performing from iconic locations around the world.”

“We are not just shaking up the creative industry but carving out a piece globally for regional talent to be heard,” Albahiti said. “There are a lot of quality artists in the MENA region, and we want to see our own talent on global stages.”
