Child star Matthew Mindler, who was best known for his role in “Our Idiot Brother,” has died aged 19.

His death was confirmed on Saturday in a statement from the president of Millersvil­le University, Daniel A. Wubah.

“It is with a grieving heart that I let you know of the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler from Hellertown, Pennsylvan­ia, a first-year student at Millersvil­le University. Our thoughts of comfort and peace are with his friends and family during this difficult time.

“A search had been underway for Matthew since Thursday, after he was reported missing. Millersvil­le University Police and law enforcemen­t agencies from the area had been searching for him since that time. Matthew was found deceased this morning, Saturday, August 28 in Manor Township near campus.”

Wubah also said that

Mindler’s body had been taken to Lancaster County Forensic Center for further investigat­ion to determine the cause of death.

According to a university press release, Mindler was last seen wearing a school sweatshirt, black jeans and sneakers, and was walking from his halls of residence.

His family and friends had lost contact with him since Tuesday evening and reported him missing to university police when he did not return to his room.

Mindler first appeared on TV in an episode of “As the World Turns” in 2009. He also appeared in other shows, including “Bereavemen­t” and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”

In his 2011 role in “Our Idiot Brother,” he played the son of Emily Mortimer and Steve Coogan.

He starred alongside Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel and Elizabeth Banks.
