#HappyBirthdayJungkook

-

South Korean music supergroup BTS’ youngest member turned 24 on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the singer asked fans on Weverse, an app where South Korean artists and fans chat, to send him messages to be mixed with the lyrics of a new song.

Just two hours before his birthday, Jungkook hosted a V Live livestream to introduce fans to the process of making a song, by selecting the lyrics he collected from Weverse, composing lyrics and then recording them.

After composing half of the song, he decided to instead host a surprise live concert, singing whatever songs fans requested. Once the clocks hit midnight in South Korea and his birthday began, he ended the concert and celebrated with fans online.

The BTS fan group, known as the ARMY, launched the hashtag #HappyBirthdayJungkook on Twitter to celebrate.

The hashtag was filled with birthday wishes to Jungkook, and trended worldwide on the platform.

@gopu_dy tweeted: “Happy birthday. On your birthday I’m wishing and praying that all your dreams comes true and you will get every happiness and love in your life.”

@gukiefics_ tweeted: “Thank you for being born and spreading positivity to the world with your music. We are so proud of you.”

@jeonbuba tweeted: “To the 15-year-old boy who is now 24 — you did well.”

@nzktaekoya tweeted: “I hope Jungkook received lots of love and happiness on his birthday.”

@vibingwithbtstweeted: “Dear Jungkook, I wish nothing but happiness for you!”

@illejeons tweeted: “Happiest birthday to the one who’s full of love and is the most precious for us.”

Besides fans, other BTS members also took to Twitter to celebrate by sharing photos they had taken with Jungkook and asking him to stay happy and healthy.
