Nearly 219 million cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have

been reported around the world since the outbreak of the pandemic, and more than 4.53 million people

have died after contracting the virus. Infections have been reported

in more than 220 countries and territories since the first cases were

identified in China in December 2019. More than 196 million people

have recovered from COVID-19.
