ABBA, the Swedish band, is returning in one of the most anticipated comebacks in pop music history. Members Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Falskog have been apart for 40 years since their 1981 album “The Visitors,” coming together to release new project “Voyage.”

The album has 10 songs, and will be released on Nov. 5, 2021. Two songs have already been released by the band, “Don’t shut me down” and “I still have faith in you,” while the album also includes a Christmas track.

ABBA will also hold virtual concerts from the beginning of May 2022, in a tour also named “Voyage.” Tickets will be available from Sept. 7.

According to The Guardian, Andersson said, “We’re truly sailing in uncharted waters. With the help of our younger selves, we travel into the future.”

Lyngstad added: “Such joy it was to work with the group again — I am so happy with what we have made.”

People on Twitter expressed their excitement upon the return of the band.

@happylifefirst said: “40 years of waiting … Tears running down my cheeks, goosebumps all over my body… the songs are so beautiful … London I’ll be back in 2022 for the biggest ABBA party ever !!!!! Finally life has meaning and joy again! My greatest wish is within reach.”

@realspiceboy tweeted: “I was born in the early 90s, I only know Abba songs via Meryl Streep in the Mamma Mia movie AND A*teens from Disney in the early 2000’s! This is exciting. Not to mention Spice Girls are also releasing a newish album. What a good year for classic pop music!”

@zaJPBarnard expressed his excitement, saying: “Thank you. This is a gift more precious than you may imagine. How I have lamented your breakup in 1982. How I have hoped against all odds for a revival of ABBA. And here it is happening. I play your music almost daily on my piano. I wish we could make some music together.”

@adbryan15 simply said: “My decade has been vastly improved with this announcement. I cannot wait.”
