-

The one-of-a kind collaboration re-imagines the iconic Stan Smith stamp on the shoe tongue – the most recognizable emblem of the classic sneaker – reworked to feature a Dubai custom designed graphic of the UAE’s landscape in 1971 vs. 2021 showcasing “then” and “now” of the city and the country. Bringing to life the nation’s journey over 50 years, the sneakers’ reflect the Emirate’s continued development and achievements over half a century interpreted through the eyes of one of the nation’s very own artists. Born in 1988, Emirati artist and entrepreneur Maisoon Al-Saleh is active in her practice both in Dubai and internationally. Her work often centers on bringing viewers into a discussion about the importance of Emirati history and challenging how individuals think about history, memories, and it’s representation in mainstream media.

Commenting on this collaboration, Maisoon said: “I am honored to have the opportunity to create and celebrate with Adidas.”
