Indian American celebrity Padma Lakshmi, the host and judge of the popular cooking competition show “Top Chef ” in the US, has announced that she is leaving the show after 17 years.
She made the announcement on her Instagram account, where she shared a heartfelt message with her fans and followers.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that I have decided to leave ‘Top Chef ’ after 17 incredible seasons. This was not an easy decision for me, and it took a lot of difficult soul-searching. But I feel that it is time for me to move on and explore new opportunities and challenges,” she said. Lakshmi, who joined the show in its second season in 2006, said that she was grateful for the friends she had made on the show. She also thanked the producers, the crew, the chefs, and the viewers for their support and love. She said: “‘Top Chef ’ has been more than just a job for me.
It has been a family, a community, and a passion. I have learned so much from this show, and I have grown as a person and as a professional. “I have met some of the most talented and inspiring people in the world, and I have had the privilege of tasting some of the most delicious food ever. I have also had the honor of sharing this journey with you, the fans, who have been so loyal and enthusiastic. You have made this show what it is today.” Lakshmi said that she was proud of what she and the show had accomplished over the years and that she hoped to inspire more people to pursue their culinary dreams.
Lakshmi did not reveal what her plans are for the future, but she said that she was excited about what lies ahead.
Lakshmi’s announcement has received an outpouring of love and gratitude from her fans and fellow celebrities, who thanked her for her contribution to the show and wished her well for the future.
