Watch how Diwali is celebrated in India!
Deepavali, otherwise known as the ‘Festival of Lights’ is the most important festival celebrated by Hindus across the world. It is the celebration of ‘good versus evil’, light overcoming darkness. The common tale is about how Narakasura ruled his kingdom with tyranny, which led his subjects to appeal to Lord Sri Krishna for help. Narakasura was subsequently killed by Lord Krishna and the people lit lamps to celebrate his victory. During this festive period, new colourful outfits are worn, and women adorn themselves with intricate jewellery and accessories.
