Sphere of Influence
Officine Panerai has extended its spherical Table Clock range. Like the first PAM581, the two new clocks continue to be powered by the hand-wound P.5000 calibre. The PAM641 table clock (pictured) is fitted with the brand’s classic sandwich dial with SLC design (referencing the Siluro a Lenta Corsa human torpedoes manned by the Italian
Navy commandos in the 1930s). Here, dots serve as hour markers — save for the cardinal points, which instead use bars. The other version (PAM651) displays the brand’s iconic California dial, which was used in the first watch supplied to the Navy in 1936. While the top half of the dial presents Roman numerals, the bottom is etched with Arabic ones.
