Technology, innovation and research in all fields are coming together in myriad ways. We look at the fascinating and the quaint

The challenge of including more complications on a wristwatch always boils down to space constraints. A truly functional watch can’t be helpful if nothing can be read in the end.

Patek Philippe’s new World Time Chronograph 5930G is the brand’s answer to the challenge and a quintessential example of why Patek Philippe remains at the top of the game. The careful placement of the watch’s time zone disc, chronograph seconds scale and 24 hour track allows for some of the most legible functionality we’ve seen.

The chronograph scale also uses fourth-ofa-second gradations to reflect the movement frequency of 4Hz and allows the precise timing of one-eighth of a second. Another reason for the choice was not to clutter the scale, according to Patek Philippe.
