IF YOU’RE ANYTHING LIKE ME, you’d think that the difference between one electric shaver and the next is just the brand on its handle.

Philips would like to correct that misconcept­ion. The Dutch electronic­s brand recently launched the new Series 9000 Prestige, an electronic shaver that’s priced at $599.

Pricier than your average electronic shaver, the S9000 Prestige is targeted at the gentleman who prides himself on his grooming regime and believes that the Devil is in the bearded details. So, we took the shaver for a spin.

First Impression­s

Electronic shavers are usually simple, monochroma­tic devices with no frills. The S900 Prestige is anything but that. With its sleek black and pewter colourway and subtle sheen, the shaver will take pride of place in your washroom. You can easily discern the amount of power left from the handle, which indicates the battery percentage in a soft, subtle glow.
