The iPad Pro-Lite
If work-life integration is your new post pandemic speed, the latest Apple iPad Air is set to give your work productivity and life efficiency a massive shot in the arm
FOR THE 2022 IPAD AIR, it looks like Apple studied their pricier iPad Pro and then stripped it down to the essentials to create an ultra light tablet. Though Apple’s latest iPad Air looks and feels just like its predecessor, a new M1 chip, the very same one used by the iPad Pro resides within the 100% recycled aluminium body.
Available in a new array of colours, the 2022 iPad Air also features the new Ultra Wide front camera with Centre Stage for a more natural video conferencing experience - great for those new-normal Zoom meetings, a USB-C port with up to 2x faster transfer speeds, and blazing-fast 5G connectivity (for those SIM card models).
Sporting a resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels, crisp, sharp and natural-looking thanks to P3 wide colour support, and True Tone technology, its 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display is pretty much unchanged. Able to support
Apple’s second-generation Apple Pencil, the new iPad Air also shares a Smart Connector with its Pro sibling and hence, able to use the Apple Magic Keyboard and the Smart Keyboard Folio. The rear-facing camera is the same 12-megapixel unit with an f/1.8 aperture and Smart HDR 3 technology, suffice for quick snaps and great for document scanning.
The Pen Is Mightier Indeed
Magnetically latching on to the edge of the iPad Air, It’s quite easy to get started taking notes on your iPad. With the Notes, you can easily capture your thoughts, record information, and explore your creativity. Simply swipe up from the bottom-right corner of the screen, tap the note, and start typing. Pinch the note open to change its size, or drag it off either side of the screen to hide it while you work. Adding images to your handwritten notes are also a cinch, just drag an image saved in Photos or another app onto the drawing area of the note. Furthermore, you can also share a note with friends and family; and we haven’t even gotten to the best part yet, you can search for almost anything in notes ‒ handwritten text, objects within images, even text in scanned documents.
Additionally, you can convert your handwriting when you’re ready to formalise your thoughts into a working text file. There are two ways: You can write with the pen farthest from the ruler, which has an “A” on it and your scribbles will automatically convert to text as you write. Or, you can select the notes and convert them to text by sweeping your finger over them.
Breakthrough M1 chip, ultra-fast 5G, a new front camera with Centre Stage, this is Cupertino’s most powerful and versatile iPad Air ever. Bottomline, it can also be called an “iPad Pro-lite”.
