A team at the Uni­ver­sity of Not­ting­ham has found that our schnoz­zles drop in tem­per­a­ture when we face a com­plex men­tal task. The ef­fect is thought to be due to the body di­vert­ing blood from the ex­trem­i­ties to help out hard­work­ing neu­rons.
