Do Not Disturb!

-

The Venus flytrap is biologically developed to eat only real, living insects. When an inanimate object falls onto its leaves and simulates the movement of a real insect, the leaves will trap it and stay shut for up to 12 hours. During this time, it not capable of trapping any new food, no matter what creepy crawlies might tease it, so it is not a good idea to poke or disturb a Venus flytrap as you could disrupt its feeding pattern.
