CONCLUSION

Despite the many problems and challenges faced by Singapore, the inaugural Youth Olympic Games not only placed Singapore on a new trajectory for pursuing sports excellence, but also strengthened the sporting culture and nurtured the sports industry in the country. Most remarkably, Singapore will always be remembered in the annals of the international sporting history as the country that had hosted the very first Olympic Games for Teenagers.
