What makes your star products like Good Genes, Luna, Martian and UFO so special?

Good Genes is a lactic acid treatment that contains alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) to dissolve the glue that binds dead skin. The benefit of exfoliating with an AHA is you remove all that grime, and you don’t have so much stuff falling into your pores, so they appear smaller. You’re going to have healthy radiance, and your skin is going to be much smoother.

Luna is great if you’re worried about oily skin. Even though it is an oil, it is a retinoid so it increases the rate of healthy skin cell turnover. If you have congested skin or acne, try Martian, which is an antiseptic that contains anti-blemish ingredients. UFO has salicylic acid to go in and clean out your pores, which is critical.

Is there an ideal age to start using anti-ageing products?

I think 18 is a great time to start using something like Good Genes. When you’re 18, you’re not worried about lines, but about keeping your skin clear, blemish-free, smooth and radiant. It’s a lot easier to prevent something than it is to reverse it.

Your top beauty tip?

I’m a big believer in safe cleansing. I think a lot of people strip their skin [while cleansing] and by doing that, you destroy the skin’s natural moisture barrier. When you break that barrier, bacteria can get into your skin which can lead to more breakouts.

Ironically, while you might want to cleanse your skin to clear away dirt, over-cleansing can cause breakouts. It can also cause inflammation and irritation if you are prone to breakouts. It’s really critical to not over-cleanse.
