Wine bars make a come­back

Bruich­lad­dich’s Rare Cask Se­ries sees the fi­nal bot­tling of whiskies dubbed The Last of Their Kind. Head dis­tiller Adam Han­nett, who’s just slightly older than these whiskies, have deemed the 1984/32, 1985/32 and 1986/30 ready to leave the ware­house. The first is bour­bon aged with fruit and but­ter­scotch com­plex­ity, the sec­ond is third fill bour­bon cask with a fi­nal lay in French wine oak, and the third in richly sher­ried style is the most sought af­ter, in Oloroso and Pe­dro Ximénez butts. $1,599 per bot­tle or $150 per tast­ing flight at La Mai­son du Whisky, #01-10 The Pier, 80 Mo­hamed Sul­tan Road.
