New hotel bars redefined

Classic cocktail specialist Jigger & Pony has moved out of its Amoy Street digs after six years, and reopened in a sleek, split-level hotel setting. Its ambitious magazine-inspired menu is divided into ‘editorial’ sections such as Classics vs Signatures, where their definitive Negroni is pitted against a floral version, Madame President. Tel: 9621 1074 At 1927, SO Sofitel Singapore’s new al fresco rooftop bar that pays homage to its building’s year of birth, equatorial cocktails hold fort. The menu is equally creative, told through the ‘telegrams’ of a pair of separated lovebirds in 1927. The Pain Killer ($22) is a natural favourite, showcasing Plantation Original Dark rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice, while a Fog Cutter ($24) takes things to the next level with a deceptivel­y refreshing blend of Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac, Tanqueray gin, Lustao Amontillad­o sherry, Plantation Original Dark, orgeat and citrus. 35 Robinson Road.
