We are cheering for homegrown gin distillery Brass Lion, which has opened a beautifull­y designed standalone warehouse and distillery space in the west. Managing director and head distiller Jamie Koh took years to perfect the Singapore Dry Gin ($88/500ml) that’s audacious in its torch ginger flower, pomelo peel and lemongrass flavour notes. The herbs and spices, including specially sourced Macedonian juniper berries, come together in a 150-litre German hybrid pot still, christened Nala. More flavours are in the works.
