Epicure

A jazzy soirée

Epicure gathers Bali’s leading hotel and restaurant professionals for an enchanting evening at King Cole Bar at The St. Regis Bali Resort.

Amid the classic jazz tunes from the pianist, epicure’s recent networking event at King Cole Bar got off to a good start. True to the legacy of the original bar in New York, elegant rattan chairs and handcrafted Balinese wooden carvings decorated the elegant bar of The St. Regis Bali Resort. Invited guests, which included Bali’s prominent hotel and restaurant professionals, were warmly welcomed by epicure senior publisher, Cecilia Goh; regional business director, Dewi Prasodjo; and associate editor, Eve Tedja.

The outdoor terrace overlooking the resort quickly filled up with guests who enjoyed the succession of alcoholic offerings, such as Bali Mary, Mojito, and Passion Fruit Daiquiri. Just before the sun set, a troupe of fire dancers gave an energetic performance on the garden below. A hefty pour of Mcwilliams’ J.J. Mcwilliam Shiraz Cabernet 2017 and Tall Horse’s Sauvignon Blanc 2016 contributed to the convivial mood. Publishing consultant, Ho Sum Kwong shared with guests epicure’s recent acquisition by Media Group, thanking all present for their continuous support.

As elegant canapés like Duck Foie Gras with Apple, Blue Shrimp Tartare and Avocado Coulis, Beef Satay with Spicy Peanut Crumble, Smoked Salmon with Potato Cake, and Valrhona Chocolate Basket with Mini Lemon Tart were being passed around, 11 lucky door prize winners went home with special gifts from Two Island Wines, Rumah Luwih Bali, Royal Selangor, and The St. Regis Bali Resort.
