Fingal, a floating hotel permanentl­y berthed in Edinburgh’s historic Port of Leith waterfront, is the newest addition to Scotland’s hospitalit­y scene. Fingal started life in 1963 as a Northern Lighthouse Board Ship transporti­ng lighthouse keepers, equipment and supplies to some of the most treacherou­s locations in Scotland. After a £5 million refurbishm­ent, it's now an exquisite 23-cabin boutique hotel. Choose from a luxury cabin with a private deck, a duplex cabin with comfortabl­e living space or the stunning Skerryvore Suite with extensive outdoor space. Rates start from £300/night (S$535) based on twin sharing, and include a full Scottish breakfast.

Executive pastry chef Richard Long has injected a kaleidosco­pe of pink hues into the tea delights, which consist of scones as well as five sweet and four savoury items. Strawberry tarts are infused with strawberry confit and strawberry mousse, topped with lip-shaped chocolate art, and come with tubes filled with raspberry glaze. Soothing Red tempts with crispy raspberry bits and smooth raspberry cream covering rich chocolate cream inside a white chocolate shell. Guests who enjoy the tea set can redeem a gift set that includes a mini Le Rose Perfecto lipstick and a travel kit of Givenchy beauty essentials at all Givenchy counters in Hong Kong (excluding DFS counters).
