Asian fusion

-

After nearly eight years at Kampong Bugis Road, Kilo Kitchen has reunited with sister brand Kilo Lounge in the Tanjong Pagar district, with returning Spanish executive chef Manel Valero running the open-concept, naturalflame kitchen. Hand-sanded concrete walls, natural stone, recycled timber, polished marble, Italian ceramic tiles and vintage rugs inject a sense of warmth. The new menu revolves around the wood-fired grill, with big and bold flavoured comfort foods complementing Asian and Latin American palates. Signature snacks include Grilled Baby Corn ($12) with chipotle and furikake, an Asian twist on the classic Mexican street corn elotes, and moreish Crispy Chicken Skin (also $12), with an addictive salted egg yolk mousse. Small plates include fork-tender Beef Tongue Tacos ($18/two) with apple miso slaw, jalapeno pest and garlic tallow, while large plate must-tries consist of Grilled Whole Rainbow Trout ($46) and Braised Westholme Wagyu Beef Cheek ($52) with spicy harissa, red wine and grilled leeks. For cocktails, go with the intoxicating Makgeolli Passion ($20), which is composed of vodka, makgeolli syrup, citrus, passion fruit and egg white, or the Continental Sour ($21), a bourbon and port classic elevated with Bulleit bourbon aged for two weeks in a Syrah barrel. 97 Duxton Road.
