Savour these de­lights

Whether it’s In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal Sin­ga­pore’s tra­di­tional baked moon­cakes or tea-in­spired snow skin va­ri­etals, there’s sure to be one flavour to tempt your taste buds.


It’s time to bring out the lanterns and tea can­is­ters as Mi­dau­tumn Fes­ti­val, the age-old Chi­nese tra­di­tion ap­proaches. In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal Sin­ga­pore is set to please taste buds with an ex­quis­ite moon­cake se­lec­tion by ex­ec­u­tive sous chef Aaron Tan. The moon­cakes are housed in a sturdy ori­en­tal ch­est-drawer and em­bel­lished with flo­ral gold touches. Great as cor­po­rate gifts or pre­sents for friends and fam­ily mem­bers, the box also func­tions as a beau­ti­ful jew­ellery case for use.

The tra­di­tional moon­cakes are baked to golden brown per­fec­tion and filled with a rich blend of pure or white lo­tus paste. For some­thing whole­some, try the ever-pop­u­lar Low­sugar White Lo­tus Paste with Macadamia Nuts, which makes a come­back this year. Think creamy but­ter pas­try skin and cool­ing white lo­tus paste packed with macadamia nuts. It’s a per­fect com­bi­na­tion of sweet flavours and crunchy tex­ture.

Tan has rolled out the Snowskin Moon­cakes: Tea Col­lec­tion, which draws in­spi­ra­tion from pre­mium Ger­man tea­house Ron­nefeldt’s am­brosial in­fu­sions. Those with a sweet tooth will en­joy the Soft Peach Tea with Pump­kin Seeds and Gin­ger Pas­sion­fruit Jelly Truf­fle. It ex­udes a cit­rusy fruit flavour, which blends well with the hon­eyed notes from the peach tea, rose and hibis­cus paste. An­other must-try is the Ir­ish Whiskey Cream As­sam Tea with Milk Choco­late Truf­fle.
