Savour these delights
Whether it’s Intercontinental Singapore’s traditional baked mooncakes or tea-inspired snow skin varietals, there’s sure to be one flavour to tempt your taste buds.
It’s time to bring out the lanterns and tea canisters as Midautumn Festival, the age-old Chinese tradition approaches. Intercontinental Singapore is set to please taste buds with an exquisite mooncake selection by executive sous chef Aaron Tan. The mooncakes are housed in a sturdy oriental chest-drawer and embellished with floral gold touches. Great as corporate gifts or presents for friends and family members, the box also functions as a beautiful jewellery case for use.
The traditional mooncakes are baked to golden brown perfection and filled with a rich blend of pure or white lotus paste. For something wholesome, try the ever-popular Lowsugar White Lotus Paste with Macadamia Nuts, which makes a comeback this year. Think creamy butter pastry skin and cooling white lotus paste packed with macadamia nuts. It’s a perfect combination of sweet flavours and crunchy texture.
Tan has rolled out the Snowskin Mooncakes: Tea Collection, which draws inspiration from premium German teahouse Ronnefeldt’s ambrosial infusions. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the Soft Peach Tea with Pumpkin Seeds and Ginger Passionfruit Jelly Truffle. It exudes a citrusy fruit flavour, which blends well with the honeyed notes from the peach tea, rose and hibiscus paste. Another must-try is the Irish Whiskey Cream Assam Tea with Milk Chocolate Truffle.
