Culina celebrates 25 years of success

Singapore’s top gastronomic purveyor marks its silver jubilee with a gorgeously revamped outlet at Dempsey, a new butchery at Fairprice Xtra Vivocity and a meaningful charity initiative.

Aleading purveyor of specialist epicurean foods and beverages, Culina has always been a vibrant playground for chefs and foodies – many have been inspired to create culinary masterpieces through Culina’s curation of new produce and exciting partnerships. A stalwart of stalwarts, Culina celebrates its 25th anniversary this year with a big bang. Think a revamped and bigger outlet at COMO Dempsey, a partnership with Fairprice Xtra Vivocity and a milestone charity programme, among others.

Back in 1994, Culina was a wholesale distributor of fine foods and wines, which brought in exciting gourmet brands. Now, it has expanded its premium and exclusive offerings with the opening of new flagship outlet, Culina at COMO Dempsey. The swanky new 15,000 sq ft one-stop-shop houses a bevy of premium ingredients by marquee producers from around the globe such as gardenfresh fruits from Australia, artisan and gourmet cheeses from France, fine wines from around the world, and premium meats from Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

If you are a fan of award-winning florist Saskia Havekes, you’ll be delighted to hear that Culina is also home to Grandiflora’s first outpost, where gorgeous blooms are artfully displayed to provide inspiration for your living and dining room. Feeling a little peckish? Head over to Culina Bistro, where shoppers are encouraged to pick their choice of meat from the Butchery and send it to the kitchen to be cooked – Culina is one of the first few brands to introduce this concept. While you are there, enjoy a glass or two of the finest wine from the wine counter (with over 30 brands and counting) and a cheese platter from the cheese counter.

A key milestone achievement this year has been its partnership with the new Fairprice Xtra Vivocity. There you’ll find a butchery counter by Culina which includes an impressive dry-aged cabinet. As a value-added service and a concept mirrored from Culina Bistro, Culina also provides grilling services which are available at The Kitchen – pick your choice of meat, then send your order to the counter and it will be cooked à la minute. You can also enjoy beef from Culina at 13 Fairprice Finest outlets across the island. This breakthrough is a testament to Culina’s passionate commitment to its long-standing partners Culina and Fairprice Finest have been working together since 2008.

Doing good, giving back

Companies can change lives. In line with its 25th anniversary, Culina has partnered with HCSA Academy, an organisation that offers culinary courses to HCSA’S beneficiaries, to donate 25 percent of each transaction made at Culina Bistro and Culina Market on 26 October to the charity. This milestone charity drive is part of the Culina’s mission to support and groom aspiring chefs. Those who wish to join the cause can place a contribution (from now until December) into the donation box at Culina at COMO Dempsey.
