Taste of the sea

Are you looking for a special restaurant that offers a different take on Indonesian cuisine? Look no further than Starfish Bloo at W Bali – Seminyak.

Famed for its modern approach to Pan-asian cuisine, Starfish Bloo at W Bali – Seminyak is definitely one of the island’s favourite beachside dining destinations. With mesmerising lulling ocean waves as the backdrop, the restaurant is designed for a relaxed gathering with your loved ones.

Come before sundown and spend some time at the adjacent Ice Bar. Expect chill-out tunes and killer signature cocktails inspired by the island. It is hard to say no to the Balinese Flower Bath, a concoction of gin, cempaka syrup, black pepper syrup, and ginger. If you like it refreshing, go for the Hold Me Strong. Made with whisky, apple juice, homemade apple syrup, cardamom, and fresh lemon juice topped with Champagne, it pairs well with the Indonesian dishes on the menu.

Ask the junior sous chef Wayan Budiarta to prepare two of Starfish Bloo’s recently launched dishes: Banana Leaf Wrapped Red Snapper and Squid Ink Tempura Prawns. The aromatic spices of the grilled red snapper and its dabu dabu salsa will transport you to Sulawesi, where the dish originates from. The latter, a traditional East Javanese dish is elevated with

rujak jicama, tamarind and a dash of nori powder. Tangy and refreshing, it will delight even the most finicky palate.
