Famed for its modern ap­proach to Pan-asian cui­sine, Starfish Bloo at W Bali – Seminyak is def­i­nitely one of the is­land’s favourite beach­side din­ing des­ti­na­tions. With mes­meris­ing lulling ocean waves as the back­drop, the restau­rant is de­signed for a re­laxed gath­er­ing with your loved ones.

Come be­fore sun­down and spend some time at the ad­ja­cent Ice Bar. Ex­pect chill-out tunes and killer sig­na­ture cock­tails in­spired by the is­land. It is hard to say no to the Ba­li­nese Flower Bath, a con­coc­tion of gin, cem­paka syrup, black pep­per syrup, and ginger. If you like it re­fresh­ing, go for the Hold Me Strong. Made with whisky, ap­ple juice, home­made ap­ple syrup, car­damom, and fresh lemon juice topped with Cham­pagne, it pairs well with the In­done­sian dishes on the menu.

Ask the ju­nior sous chef Wayan Bu­di­arta to pre­pare two of Starfish Bloo’s re­cently launched dishes: Ba­nana Leaf Wrapped Red Snap­per and Squid Ink Tem­pura Prawns. The aro­matic spices of the grilled red snap­per and its dabu dabu salsa will trans­port you to Su­lawesi, where the dish orig­i­nates from. The lat­ter, a tra­di­tional East Ja­vanese dish is el­e­vated with

ru­jak ji­cama, tamarind and a dash of nori pow­der. Tangy and re­fresh­ing, it will de­light even the most finicky palate.
