Limin’ it up
Lime House, Singapore’s only Caribbean bar and restaurant has gone through a revamp. Expect a welllighted space, outdoor seating with homey Caribbean touches, deck chairs, tropical flora and a teakwood bar stocked with the largest rum collection in Singapore (300 bottles and counting). The well-spiced Caribbean classics are served up in generous portions. There’s a fiery curry goat with rice and peas ($32) as well as some sweet-savoury jerk chicken ($29). Smaller bites such as the Carnival Market ($18), pan-seared snapper served with rich jouvert sauce and refreshing tomato salsa; and highly addictive Oxtail & Eggplant ($16) are perfect for those looking for a munch.
Among the new variety of rum tipples (inspired by the countries around the Carribean Sea), we like the Santo Libre, Dominican ($19), a potent combination featuring multi-island rum and classic Jamaican ginger beer, and the Spicy Pimento, Jamaica ($21), comprising tequila and mezcal.
