Meatless yakiniku debuts in Singapore
Alternative meat lovers are spoilt for choice here. Aside from plant-based Impossible beef patties and Quorn chicken nuggets, there’s now yakiniku meat by Next
Meats. The Japanese alternative meat company has collaborated with Japanese grilled meat specialist and restaurant Aburi-EN to offer two types of set meals using NEXT Kalbi (boneless short rib) for the very first time. Made largely from soy proteins, NEXT Kalbi contains double the amount of protein and half the fat than that of regular meat, without chemical additives or cholesterol.
On the menu are the Kalbi Don Set ($13.80) and Stamina Teishoku ($15.80) – the former has grilled Kalbi served atop a bowl of Japanese steamed rice, while the latter features stir-fried Kalbi with cabbage and egg served alongside steamed rice, salad, pickles and miso soup. Both sets are available at all Aburi-EN restaurants from now till July 2021.
