In a first for the mai­son, Mont­blanc has com­bined tra­di­tional Swiss watch­mak­ing stan­dards with one of the most un­der­stated ma­te­ri­als in the in­dus­try: bronze. In­spired by the mil­i­tary styles of the ’30s and the Mont­blanc-owned Min­erva man­u­fac­ture’s 160-plus years of watch­mak­ing ex­per­tise, the 1858 Col­lec­tion fea­tures three dis­tinc­tive watches steeped in both her­itage and style. The Mont­blanc 1858 Chrono­graph Tachymeter Lim­ited Edi­tion (100 pieces avail­able world­wide) is a true bea­con of the col­lec­tion with a 44mm bronze case, and a stun­ning black dial fea­tur­ing a small sec­onds sub-dial at 9 o’clock and a counter for 30 elapsed min­utes at 3 o’clock. The col­lec­tion also comes in two other mod­els: the Mont­blanc 1858 Au­to­matic Dual Time and the Mont­blanc 1858 Au­to­matic. Sim­i­lar to the Chrono­graph Tachymeter that comes in a co­gnac-coloured al­li­ga­tor strap, sim­i­larly hued calf leather straps for the Au­to­mat­ics are crafted at the Mont­blanc Pel­let­te­ria in Florence, Italy, giv­ing them a dis­tinc­tive aged look.
