SINGAPORE AMERICAN SCHOOL

-

Sodai and Yuka Tanaka, Japanese; Shodai (15), Mika (8)

We’ve been in Singapore for 15 years and we chose SAS based on how happy their kids seemed to be during our campus visit. They were giggling with friends as they passed us in the hallways, and students were happy when chatting with teachers. We felt that SAS offered the holistic experience we were looking for and that our kids would fit in the school while receiving a top-notch international school education.

Our kids say that it’s the people of the school that they love the most. They enjoy the diversity of their classmates from all over the world with many different backgrounds and cultures. This exposure has really enabled them to accept differences in people and treat everyone with respect. The school’s teachers make a huge effort to get to know each student and this makes a great impact on their lives. Parent groups such as the PTA and the high school Booster Club create moments where families can connect with the school and build community, which is extremely important to a positive school experience.

Mika has benefited from the close relationship that counsellors in the elementary school have with students, while the athletic programme has enabled Shodai to learn valuable life skills through his participation in Eagles Club Baseball for the last 10 years.

THE SCHOOL SAYS…

We have a global reputation of excellence and innovation in education and graduate students who attend the best universities in the world. We provide an educational environment where engaged students learn to think critically, develop the skills necessary to succeed throughout their lives and pursue passions in a range of disciplines. The school invests heavily in professional development and regularly sends teachers across the globe to share best practices with other leading educational institutions.

What’s new?

In May 2021, phase one of a S$400 million campus upgrade began. The entire project is scheduled for completion by 2026. It will create learning environments with endless possibilities for our students and educators.
