SIR MANASSEH MEYER INTERNATIONAL

-

Alexander and Anna, AmericanBritish; Arlan (11), and Remi (9)

We visited SMMIS before relocating to Singapore and the first impression was the amazing facilities that we could only have dreamed of in London. It was seeing happy students and teaching staff walking the halls that made it an easy decision to enrol our children.

Having been at a small Jewish school in London, SMMIS has a similar ethos and a Principal who had previously been the deputy at a top London school; it provided a smooth transition for our children. The school attracts people from the most diverse backgrounds. It’s wonderful to see kids from dozens of countries learning about our holidays and traditions, and vice versa.

What we like most is the school’s ability to tailor the learning experience to each child. For example, one of our kids is very advanced in maths; he’s able to learn on a personalised advanced track and participate in competitions like the Asia Maths Olympiad. In areas where he needs extra support, the school provides it on a oneto-one basis. We also like that the school is not tied to any one country’s national curriculum – SMMIS chooses the best for each subject. Finally, the delivery of non-core subjects has been excellent. Our children are not particularly sporty but love PE and the school has uncovered their musical talents.

THE SCHOOL SAYS…

We’re a not-for-profit school that offers a rigorous international education in stateof-the-art premises. We are a smaller, childcentred school that allows us to nurture the individual, enabling each child to flourish and reach their full potential.
