I joined the school seven years ago as one of the founding staff members. It’s been a challenging and rewarding journey, watching the school grow and develop. I love the daily interactions with the diverse range of students of different nationalities, ages and interests. I thoroughly enjoy nurturing the love of art in them and helping them to develop their talents. It’s priceless to see students learn and master new techniques and develop new skills, and to watch them become confident young artists.

I also enjoy being a part of this incredible community and working with amazing people. Despite the pandemic restrictions, we’ve established a strong support network and a sense of fellowship, as well as multiple learning and collaboration opportunities for all.

Seeing the annual IBDP Art Exhibitions come to fruition has been one of the most memorable and rewarding moments of my teaching career here at XCL World Academy. After many months of preparation, when the artworks are hung and the students are standing proudly next to their work, ready to explain each concept to the audience, that’s a very special time for me.

What’s new?

The biggest highlight of this year is the opening of the new collaboration and future-focused innovation spaces for high school students, and the launch of the eSports Programme (the first ever in an international school in Singapore!) to help our students develop critical skills such as leadership, teamwork and discipline. 2 Yishun Street 42
