MAKE TIME FOR YOUR Teeth

-

Here are three ways recent events may have taken a toll on your teeth – and what to do about each.

1 MORE COFFEE, TEA AND WINE

For many of us, working from home has meant greater consumption of these teeth-staining substances, making it hard to keep our chompers as pearly white as we’d like. And, with meetings operating under HD Zoom, stained teeth can be quite noticeable with an unmasked face!

Luckily, a teeth cleaning can remove surface stains; for internal stains, you’ll need whitening or bleaching. Aesthete Smilestudio offers two different whitening solutions: a one-time, in-office treatment which is administered and monitored by a professional, and an at-home treatment which is safe for self-administration with remote supervision from the clinic.

2 STRESS

Stress can manifest with clenching or teeth grinding, especially in one’s sleep. This can cause headaches and premature wearing of enamel, leading to increased sensitivity.

A custom-made mouth guard can protect your teeth from the effects of grinding. Worn at night, the guard can relieve pain by helping to improve the position of the jaw joint; this, in turn, eases stress elsewhere in the jaw and adjoining facial muscles.

3 NEGLECT & DELAY

Safety concerns have meant a downplay on routine dental examinations. The problem, however, is that those little issues left for “later” can create even bigger dental issues down the line.

According to Aesthete Smilestudio, it’s important not to neglect regular oral health checks – even during these times. Early-stage diseases have no symptoms, so it’s best to put oral health on your priority list.
