All I want for Christmas

Expat Living staff recently spent a fun afternoon in the one stop Christmas shopping heaven that is Tanglin Mall, and here they share a few of their top gift choices from all the great stores. With so much to choose from, this is just the tip of the icebe

Katie Roberts,

For me: I love this halterneck green dress at White Ginger – it’d be perfect to wear in the Sydney heat at a Boxing Day barbecue with my family. Pair it with a Panama hat ($270) and a pair of leather silver thongs ($75) and I’m sorted! White ite Ginger (#03-04)

Secretly, I’d love a Laguiolele cutlery set (or even just a few pieces) from House e of Anli, because e this tableware just oozes French sophistication, and the colours are gorgeous (24 pieces $395, basket $55). For my Mum: A floaty and cool dress ($179.90) to counteract the humidity when she next comes to visit, and a necklace to dress it up ($29.90)! Island Shop (#02-11/12)

Amanda Broad,

For my kids: I love wooden toys – much nicer than the endless array of plastic that fills the bedrooms of my son and daughter. There are lots of extensions ($49.90 to $99.90) available for the Haba Kugelbahn Master Building Set ($399) and the children can use their own creativity to build different tracks and layouts. The Better Toy Store (#01-11/12) For me: I love Christmas, and these elegant glass candlestick holders (large, $79) would look beautiful on our festive table. And I’d be thrilled to find a bath bomb ($ 7) in my stocking, ng, too. Tatty Marsh (#02-07)

Leanda Rathmell,

For my niece: My niece is obsessed with Ariel at the moment and can’t be kept away from the swimming pool, so the Mahina Merfins ($139) will be the perfect gift to get her imagination going. And the rice cushion would be cute in her bedroom too ($48)! The Children’s Showcase (#03-08A) For my boyfriend: Portable and top quality, these Marshall speakers ($429) are ideal for him to bust his tunes in and out of the house – and the sleek design means we won’t have to hide them behind a photo frame! Challenger Mini (#03-15) For my son: The cotton fabric of these shorts and shirt ($44 each) is great in Singapore’s heat and I know my two-year-old would look cute in them too! Chateau De Sable (#02-13)

Amy Brook-partridge,

For me: These champagne glasses ($28) are from the House of Anli. I’m bored of my cheap IKEA flutes – and I love the style of these glasses; they’ve got that Great Gatsby feel to them, the pattern is pretty without being too ‘cutesy’, and they look like they hold more champagne than my current vessels – win-win! House of Anli Interiors (#03-17)
