A heads-up for fans of Korean skincare and makeup: floral-inspired beauty brand Mamonde has landed on our shores. My personal favourite is the rose water toner, formulated with more than 90 percent Bulgarian damask rose water for hydration. It cleanses without stripping away moisture, and smells absolutely divine! $38, available at lazada.sg.

Although booking that relaxing getaway is exciting, we don’t all look forward quite as much to getting into a swimsuit (and the pressure to look good in those holiday photos!). Cue boot camp, zumba classes, an impromptu juice cleanse or even clocking in a few personal trainer sessions, in an attempt to whip ourselves into shape for the occasion.

The hard truth is, no matter how dedicated you are to your fitness programme, and how much progress you make towards your fitness goals, there often remain a few lumps or bumps on your body that won’t go away. In particular, our midsections seem to hold on to a stubborn few pounds that just won’t shift – believe us, you’re not alone!

If this strikes a chord, it may be worth considering a body contouring treatment. No, we’re not talking about anything invasive or painful like liposuction. One option is the Vanquish ME treatment by BTL Aesthetics, which uses powerful RF (radio frequency) technology to slim down the tummy area, or the thighs, with no anaesthesia or downtime required, and not a needle in sight. Instead, it uses a wide probe that hovers above the stomach area for less than an hour, using heat energy to selectively target, shrink and eliminate unwanted adipose tissue, or fat cells.

The procedure is especially recommended for problem areas where exercise and diet have failed – and, of course, for those who want to avoid the cost, discomfort and recovery time associated with surgery.

For best results, a course of four to six sessions taken at intervals of seven to ten days is recommended. We’re told that most people see a reduction in fat and a slimmer shape within just three weeks!
