We run our eyes over the latest pieces at Ethnicraft Online.

Keep a lookout for the 2018 additions at popular furniture store Ethnicraft Online, including the new teak Ancestors Collection, the Oak Bok extendable dining table, and the Oak Spindle bed and bedside table.

The Ancestors Collection is a premium teak furniture line with a Central African design theme that features contemporary shapes and hand-carved motifs. Products include the Teak Tabwa sideboard and coffee table.

The Oak Bok extendable dining table is an extension to the successful Oak Bok Dining series. It has an airy shape but solid construction, and prices start from $2,325.

The Oak Spindle bed ( pictured) incorporates aligned spokes into its headboard, and the slightly tapered legs and rounded edges add a soft touch. It’s available in queen and king sizes, with prices from $2,175, and $425 for the bedside table.

Woody Antique House has been a fixture on the Dempsey shopping circuit for over 18 years. Having previously been split between two blocks in the popular retail enclave, its collection is once again housed under one roof, in a showroom at Block 13.

This is Dempsey’s biggest showroom for Asian furniture, so there’s a vast collection of indoor and outdoor items, from pieces sourced from Tibet, Myanmar, Thailand and Indonesia, to a large selection of Chinese antiques and reproduction pieces, and a range of repurposed Indian furniture.

The exclusive Domus Ventures outdoor collection, which includes sofas, sun loungers and hanging chairs, continues to be a popular seller, thanks to its resort-style feel. Then there are the recycled teak and elm pieces, which appeal to those keen on environmentally-friendly furniture.

The Dempsey area has a rich history, with many of its tenants housed in historic military barracks. There may be a plethora of food and beverage outlets on site now, but that shouldn’t detract from the fact that it’s still a buzzing retail spot to visit as well, making it a lifestyle destination worth a visit. What’s more, there’s free parking and a free shuttle bus to and from Orchard for customers too.
