Chained Dog Awareness in Singapore (CDAS) is a Facebook community group that advocates against the prolonged tethering and caging of dogs. These acts result in unnecessary stress to animals, and can be linked to increased aggression in dogs.

CDAS works closely with the AVA ( Agri- Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore) to improve the welfare of chained and caged dogs, and has three areas of focus: firstly, working to rescue or at least improve the living conditions of these dogs; secondly, to educate the public and partners on the detrimental effect these practices have; and, finally, to engage with the AVA, SPCA and media to help influence and evolve social norms and attitudes towards tethering.

To help with their cause, the CDAS asks the public to be their eyes and ears, to help monitor potential issues and to ensure there’s sufficient evidence to make a case to the AVA for investigation. You can follow their Facebook page and share posts to help educate people that this practice is happening, or volunteer or donate funds. 9726 6226 (Whatsapp) fb.com/chaineddogawarenesssingapore
