Girl Power

Singapore’s largest women-only race, and the biggest women-only half marathon in the region, this year’s Great Eastern Women’s Run will take place on 14 October for the first time at Singapore Sports Hub, taking participan­ts from Nicoll Highway to the National Stadium. New to this year’s event is the 110-metre sprint category for ages 13 and up, where participan­ts get the chance to run on the stadium track. Other race categories include the 21.1km, 10km and 5km options, plus a 2km “Mummy and Me Run” for mothers and daughters aged seven to 12, and the popular “Princess Dash” for girls aged three to six. Fierce Foursome

Grab three running buddies and team up for this year’s ASICS Relay, taking place at Sentosa’s Palawan Green on 20 October. Choose from the full marathon (42km), in which each team member runs 10.5 kilometres, or the half marathon (21km) race, which has each participan­t covering 5.25 kilometres.
