Why Dempsey Hill has it all

-

While you kick it back and enjoy the cafés, salons and art galleries, Dempsey Hill is also full of fun and educational spots for your tots. Here, we take a sneak peek at some of the quality education and enrichment centres in the Loewen by Dempsey Hill cluster.

Personalised Learning

Invictus International School offers a holistic education that lets children flourish. The Dempsey Hill campus offers Grade 1 Prep to Grade 6 international education and incorporates the surrounding outdoors and nature into the learning. What’s more, the Personalised Learning Programme (PLP) launched in August 2020; it was added to the curriculum to benefit slow learners, students with learning disabilities and those learning English as an additional language.

Arts & Education

Using arts-based therapy to teach numeracy, literacy and independent living skills, Melbourne Specialist International School (MSIS) was launched in 2014 to give all children a right to education. Every student is given an individual learning programme that focuses on their specific needs, while the teachers use the power of dance, drama, music and visual arts to aid in learning, and gradually bring the child one step closer to the ultimate goal: becoming a self-sufficient and happy adult.

Toddler Tango

What better way to expose your little ones to a bit of culture than Latin dance classes! At Dancer’s Dream Studio, the children’s dance curriculum focuses on a balance between skills and playbased learning. In addition to syllabus figures that dancers must learn, there are dance-related games to enjoy, with creativity encouraged and introduced within dance routines. It’s a great opportunity for children to learn more about teamwork, independence and trust.
