Claire joined the preschool at SAS in August. Since we moved here in July during the pandemic and only days before the school year began, we weren't able to visit schools and had to rely on online research. We were drawn to the Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum and felt a connection with seeing children as unique and capable learners. We were also encouraged by the professional support teachers receive and the low teacherturnover rates. If teachers are happy, it's a good sign. We initially looked into preschools closer to home but decided that having both children on the same academic schedule would be best.

We've been very happy with our decision so far – and extremely impressed with the preschool. Our daughter is happy to go to school every day and her curiosity and love of learning is encouraged. During weekends and school breaks she asks, “Do I have school tomorrow? When can I go back?” She's learning so much about the world around her, while having the time of her life riding bikes, building fairy castles, exploring, painting and enjoying her daily Move and Groove class. There are Chinese classes every day and we've been amazed at how quickly she's picking up the language through songs and games.

There are many preschools in Singapore so it can be overwhelming. We'd encourage families to tour SAS and see for themselves whether the school is right for them. Distance from home seemed like a huge deal but turned out to be a non-issue for us and definitely not a reason to miss the opportunity to attend an amazing school like SAS. It's a very special and magical place.
