Kaia started Prep 1 in January this year. Luna also entered when she was four, and is now in Grade 3. SJI International is one of the few schools in Singapore that has an equal local and international student population ratio in high school and also an excellent academic curriculum with a focus on the “virtues framework”. We also like that the school is big enough to offer a wide range of activities, but small enough for our children to feel part of the community.

SJI International's preschool curriculum is well-rounded and focuses on playful learning in an inclusive environment. The virtues framework forms the foundation of all interactions at the school and is really lived out by everyone. We like the enthusiasm of teachers and support staff, the friendly and constructive approach towards learning and the balanced programme on offer. These are challenging times but the school has done a great job for online learning, particularly during the Circuit Breaker. It was also important to us that our children learnt both English and Chinese from a young age (we don't speak these at home). SJII has a great Mandarin programme, with an Englishspeaking teacher and a Chinese-speaking teaching assistant in preschool. It's become natural for the kids to fully understand things in both languages.

Our girls' teachers throughout the past years have been absolutely lovely, making the transition into “big school” smooth, fun and easy. Both girls enjoy borrowing new books from the library every week and interacting with the lovely librarian. Kaia loves the outdoor play time, especially the pirate ship playground and earning WOW cards by displaying virtues. We're very happy with our choice and would happily recommend the school to other families.
