Connor started at Stamford American's Early Learning Village (ELV) in August 2020. Our search for the right school was initially driven by online research, but it was our conversations with parents that gave us a true picture of what the school was like and ultimately guided our decision. In short, ELV has surpassed our expectations.

We love the combination of approaches to early learning – merging the IB, PYP, Reggio Emilia and STEAMInn – and the focus on child-driven learning. The inclusion of SMART steps/PMP has also proven that learning via physical play is great for our son. It was the integrated teaching approach, parent communication and engagement that's transformed what we thought we could expect from a school. The new superintendent has done a fantastic job of creating a culture of openness, honesty, inclusion and community. His regular communication has been so helpful. Right away, you can see that the school “walks the talk” and truly cares about student wellbeing. What the specialist teachers have achieved while teaching remotely is also amazing. Their skills and passion are so apparent and we can see the impact at home. They regularly share details about their strategies and how they work, be it via music, language, art or PE, to address common learning outcomes.

We'd be remiss if we didn't share how we've been welcomed, despite the challenges COVID presented – from our admissions experience to daily greetings from the nurses as we arrived each day. We're happy to have found a home at Stamford American's ELV and encourage parents to speak with other parents to help them decide which school is right for them.

We’re happy to have found a home at the Early Learning Village
