Super Sunsets

-

Ten great places to watch the sun go down over Singapore (for free!). No matter whether it’s spent with a special someone, the kids or alone, a beautiful sunset never fails to satisfy. Here are some Singapore spots where the day’s final rays of light are sure to impress.

#1 Lower Peirce Reservoir

A gorgeous park with a lovely rainforest backdrop, Lower Peirce Reservoir off Upper Thomson Road has a small pavilion out on the water – ideal for watching the sun go down amidst a tranquil nature scene.

#2 Marina at Keppel Bay

This scenic locale has plenty of great restaurants for a relaxing dinner. But it’s worth a visit in any case, as the waterfront offers a perfect place for gazing over the yachtfilled waters to the orange hues of sunset.

#3 Fullerton Boardwalk

This tourist hotspot is home to the Merlion, but it’s also a gathering place for appreciating the dusk. The sun sets right in front of your eyes while Marina Bay, the Helix Bridge and the ArtScience Museum light up across the river. Sublime!

#4 Mount Faber

To see a lovely balance of forest canopy and urban skyscrapers, make the hike up Mount Faber. The iconic hill lets you escape the city crowds and get a panoramic view of Singapore and its southern islands through special telescopes.

#5 Punggol Waterway Park

With its mix of jungle foliage meeting calm waters, Punggol Waterway Park is a great place to go for a scenic run or a bike ride at dusk. Make sure you end up at the Jewel Bridge to watch the sun go down.

#6 Marina East

Head across to Marina Bay Golf Course and then walk towards Marina Barrage for some stunning views. The sun reflects off the glistening water here, mirroring the whole Singapore skyline – it’s a fab photo opp.

#7 Changi Boardwalk

Wrapping around Changi’s scenic coastline, this boardwalk has four sections, including the breathtaking Sunset Walk. Take a romantic stroll along this stretch for a winning view of the sun dipping over Changi Point.

#8 Woodlands Waterfront

For a sunset spot on the northern side of the island, this 1.5kmlong promenade runs around the bay, with different lookout points over the Straits of Johor. As long as the weather’s half decent, you’re guaranteed a great sunset.

#9 Helix Bridge

This spot isn’t as tranquil as some on our list, but it’s definitely worth a mention. If you’ve got dinner plans at Marina Bay, pop to the bridge first for amazing views across the water to the city lighting up for the evening.

#10 Labrador Park

Take the peaceful, scenic walk from hilly jungle down to the yachts at Keppel Bay, and enjoy a wonderful sea vista as the sun starts to set. You’ll likely be joined by some squirrel friends!
