K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask, $120

woorailoora.com.sg

Whether it’s swimming pools or salon bleach, my hair is a constant victim of chemical abuse. Since it’s frequently dry, coarse and tangled, I recently cut off a dramatic four inches and turned to healthier habits and intensive treatment for a reset.

K18 Biomimetic Hairscience came recommended as an at-home regime promising salon-standard results. The products aim to strengthen and improve elasticity while reversing damage from chemical services and thermal styling. The leave-in hair mask goes a long way; one pump applied to shampooed (strictly no conditioner!) and toweldried hair is enough to cover my roots to tips. One month in, and it’s peculiar to think I haven’t touched my regular conditioner – and yet my hair feels thicker and stronger! Leanda Rathmell Marc Anthony Hydra Lock range, from $17.90 marcanthony.com.sg

I’ve been using the Hydra Lock Moisture Recharge Shampoo and Conditioner, as well as the Hydra Lock Instant Moisture Recharge Hair Mist for the past two weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed them. As someone with naturally frizzy hair, I love that the shampoo adds moisture to my hair while still being a lightweight formula. I pair this with the scent-free conditioner for maximum moisture.

The hair mist is by far the best one I’ve tried. The spray is super fine and works instantly without getting messy. Most importantly, it helps to tame my frizz! The range is also affordable, which is another plus. Benjamin Mah Oasis: Seven, $28 oasis-skin.com

This nifty little number from local vegan beauty brand Oasis contains seven organic plant-based oils like avocado, broccoli and jojoba to nourish dry tresses and tame frizz. Combined with an aromatherapy mix of organic essential oils, the hair serum smells absolutely lovely. I find myself looking forward to using it every night as part of my bedtime routine, as the natural rosemary and eucalyptus scents never fail to put me in a calming mood!

Two drops is the perfect amount for my mid-length hair; anything more feels a tad too oily for my liking. I only use this at night as I don’t like using oils in the day when it’s hot, and I’ve been waking up to smoother and sleeker locks. A little goes a long way, so I think it’s a value-for-money purchase! Anthia Chng Phyto RE30 Grey Hair Treatment Repigmenting Technology, $100 phyto.sg

This dual-action, at-home hair treatment promises to bring colour back to your hair while preventing greys from forming. It’s formulated with plant-based ingredients like purple tulip extract to restore hair strength, and doesn’t contain any colouring agents.

I’ve been using it for two weeks so far. It’s easy to use; I apply eight sprays to my scalp at night after washing my hair and leave it in without washing. The scent is pleasant and the formula fast-absorbing, which is great for the Singapore weather. The only thing is that I need to use it for a long period of time (at least three months) before seeing results. Kua Bee Lee
