Expat Living (Singapore)

The Specifics

- SARAH MUMFORD, BRITISH Occupation: Lawyer

What’s the name of your street?

Keppel Bay Drive.

What’s a common myth or misconception about your neighbourhood?

That the location is too remote; the walk to the nearest MRT at HarbourFront is in fact only about 12 minutes from our condo and there’s a bus stop directly outside. VivoCity is also a short walk away.

Exact words you tell a taxi driver to get home?

“Caribbean!”

Closest MRT station?

HarbourFront (North East and Circle Lines) or Telok Blangah (Circle Line).

How long have you lived here?

Since last November. We moved here after living in Sydney for ten years.

Why here?

We wanted a waterfront lifestyle; this was important to us since we came from the Northern Beaches in Sydney. We felt Sentosa was a bit too inaccessible for the school run and the commute to the CBD (when we finally go back to new normal). The development sits on a former shipyard site, so there are waterways all around the complex adding to the waterfront experience.

The condo has a great family feel, which was also important to us since we have a four-year-old daughter. There are lots of classes on offer for children (and adults) at the clubhouse, including ballet, martial arts, dance and aerobics. The apartments are also a bit bigger than the other comparative three-bedders we looked at in the vicinity, although the condo is a lot older than, say, Corals, and certainly Reflections.

There are amazing views over to the marina at Keppel Bay as soon as you step foot onto the complex and these views can also be enjoyed from the Olympic-sized pool and large outdoor jacuzzi. We particularly enjoy relaxing in the jacuzzi when the sun is setting! We’re also only a tenminute cab ride to Sentosa, which is our main playground on weekends.
