Girls’ Best Friend

-

You know we love our diamonds. And Rachel P Jewels’ one-of-a-kind Christmas pieces are studded with these precious gemstones. There’s the lavender jade earring, set with all-natural diamonds as well as the gold-and-diamond necklace in the Brianna collection. These rocks play a supporting role rather than taking centre stage, so it’s perfect for women who like to be a bit more subtle. The best part, however, is that it’s all limited edition (meaning one piece only) so you better move fast, girlfriend. rachelpjewels.com.sg

Nana & Bird Takes Flight

This homegrown multi-label boutique, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, is showing no signs of slowing down. Pop by the revamped Tiong Bahru outlet to see and feel the latest capsule collection, Momentum. “It’s all about balance and unexpectedness,” says Chiew Ling, who cofounded the brand with her long-time friend Georgina Koh. “I think a balanced outfit peppered with an iconic timepiece and some classic accessories will do the trick.” With easyto-style separates, relaxed silhouettes and bold gingham prints anchoring the 30-piece collection, Momentum exudes ease, joy and casual luxury, to inspire others to take on the world. It also recently launched a preloved luxury line, Re/love, that’s all about authentic designer pieces at affordable prices. 1 Yong Siak Street. shop.nanaandbird.com

Colour Me Happy!

We’re sooo tempted to toss aside our boring ol’ bags for Hong Kong-born, Singaporebased fashion label Desti Saint’s new Hope Blooms collection. Why? The roomy shoppers and cute crossbody bags feature colourful illustrations of Chinese embroidery – think dragons and birds! – to liven up those drab days. The other bags are equally adorable, with hidden lining (peek inside for a surprise!) and playful wide straps. Keep your eyes peeled, too, for the brand’s signature tassel and rose quartz ball. Crystal Power

It’s midweek and we’re rubbing our eyes in disbelief staring at Swarovski’s latest offerings. This isn’t the Swarovski we know... or is it? Creative director Giovanna Engelbert is on fire with Collection II, churning out fierce and colourful pieces that are unapologetic in their scale and presence. “I wanted to dive deeper into a love affair with Austrian arts and crafts, while bringing in modernity,” says Engelbert. Meanwhile, we want one of the dazzling cocktail rings and chokers for ourselves – pretty please? swarovski.com

Magnificent Mosaics

The latest label to hop onto the sustainable wagon is also one of our favourites: Tod’s. Tod’s Mosaic collection – the name for their latest sustainable effort – is an upcycling project featuring patchwork bags fashioned from used materials. It’s inspired by traditional Italian know-how, where women employed in the country’s numerous leather and shoe factories handcrafted small bags for grocery shopping made from production leftovers. Expect a limited number of unique shopping totes and pouches, and a selection of home accessories, all made using the same upcycling process. tods.com

Don’t be fooled by the name. The Stepney Workers Club is actually a union of classic low- and hi-tops, not labourers. This unisex footwear brand, which comes all the way from East London and is inspired by the inclusivity of classic English Workers Sports Clubs, is constructed by combining traditional and bygone techniques including vulcanisation. As a result, SWC’s soles are structured and sturdy, yet flexible and cushioned, even without excessive usage of glue and bonding chemicals. This is one club we’d like to join! Ear This!

Here’s one way to have fun with fashion: jewellery brand Forbidden Hill has launched three new earring collections inspired by hidden gems of Singapore’s heritage, such as the Jalan Besar neighbourhood and the ancient spring that once flowed under Fort Canning. But what makes the new sterling silver collection extra awesome is that the gemstones are interchangeable. The earrings come with a choice of eight gemstones, including sapphire, ruby, amethyst and amazonite – and you can easily swap one for another! Like the brand’s versatile silk bangles and cuffs, you can mix and match the jewels to your clothes, so you’ll never have another lousy OOTD in your life, ever. forbiddenhill.com
