A pair of new Marriott properties have popped up in different Australian states.

Victoria: Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands is now the first and only international five-star hotel in the city’s Docklands district. The new hotel has 189 guestrooms and offers a resort-style city stay. We’re particularly taken with the look of the 28-metre wet edge rooftop infinity pool, not to mention the rooftop bar with breathtaking views of Melbourne and beyond. The four dining venues include Archer’s, highlighting Australian cuisine made with fresh local produce.

Tasmania: The Luxury Collection has made its first foray into Australia with the opening of The Tasman in Hobart. The hotel is located near the famous Salamanca Markets, St. David’s Park and the waterfront of Sullivan’s Cove. It features a trio of distinct architectural styles, including an original 1840s heritage building, an Art Deco building and a contemporary, glass ensconced Pavilion building. Signature restaurant Peppina is helmed by renowned Tasmanian chef Massimo Mele.

The Tibetan Plateau in Sichuan, China, is a spectacular place, making newly opened Conrad Jiuzhaigou one to pencil in for a future trip. It’s located near the famous UNESCO World Heritage site of Jiuzhaigou, with its waterfalls and tree-fringed lakes (pictured on page 101). The 161 guest rooms include 26 villas set amidst mountain greenery, with terraces offering panoramic views of the landscape. The locally sourced ingredients that feature at the hotel’s restaurants include freshly grilled yak meat! hilton.com/en/hotels/jzhcici-conrad-jiuzhaigou
